Skateboarders: The best way to get sponsored

If you are a good as the Pros then get a buddy and make a Video or DVD of your action. I doesn't need to be edited with music and fades, just have excellent skateboarding action. Show your range of abilities. Then send a copy to those companies that you'd like to sponsor you. Remember, you need to follow-up the video tape with phone calls or emails.

We'd recommend that you go to as many local skateboarding contests as possible. Watch our site and check out states with the most parks, if the contest is in Santa Cruz, L.A. or Texas, get there. See if you really stack up against the competition. It would be better to enter a few local competitions before you start traveling because you may crack under the pressure and become a sniveling momma's boy.

Remember, the more skateboarding contests you enter, the better the chance of meeting sponsors. Good Luck, it ain't going to be easy but that's one reason why we came about, to help local talent get noticed.
